Dr. TAN Hong Ming is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Analytics and Operations, NUS Business School, National University of Singapore. He is also a Research Fellow at the Institute of Operations Research and Analytics at the same university. In his current role, Hong Ming is responsible for teaching and coordinating modules in the Undergraduate, MBA, Executive MBA, and Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA) programs. He is also involved in executive education programs such as Leading with Big Data Analytics and Machine Learning, and Practical Decision Making Using Data Science. He has won several teaching awards. He was previously a lecturer at Temasek Polytechnic.

Apart from teaching, Hong Ming is also involved in industrial research projects such as the AI-led Smart Data Centre Management Application where he is co-PI and the SIA Corp Lab. He advises startups such as X0PA AI where he is the Lead AI Advisor. He manages teams of Data Scientists, PhD students, research assistants, and interns, guiding and providing direction for the various research projects.

His research spans across multiple disciplines including healthcare, education, aviation, and mental health where he applies statistical methods and data-driven approaches to real-world business problems, as well as leveraging technology to address health issues.

Another significant part of his research involves economic and statistical modeling. By distilling complex systems into their essential components, these models provide valuable insights that guide decision-making and strategy.
